The antics of a two year old

Emerson & her 'babies' - they are everywhere! Usually, I'm not overly excited to see them because they are in something that I need to put Grant into (swing, chair, crib, bumbo seat, high chair), and of course, they are buckled in. Balancing Grant and trying to undo a buckle and remove one of Emerson's babies isn't an easy feat. However, sometimes they are just cute. I checked on Emerson on Friday night before going to bed and right beside her she had a baby covered up with her blanket, while she slept without - awwww.
Elmo catching some zzz's in Grant's crib.

Not sure what is happening with the princesses & people, but they were all (and there is alot of them) assembled on the floor. Emerson apparently knew what was going on because she was playing with them & reconfiguring them for hours.

Out for a ride on the back of daddy's bike. We had to pull her away from her beloved swingset to go on this ride.

Bubbles!! Enough said.

Giraffes

We extended our holiday weekend on Monday by taking Emerson to Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek. It was ridiculously hot, but we all had fun nonetheless - Grant was even a trooper and slept through the whole afternoon. The main attraction this year at the zoo are the baby giraffes - you can even feed them. Emerson had a great time!! Notice the exposed giraffe teeth.....a bit exciting and scary at the same time.
A wee baby.

Feeding the smaller giraffe.

On to the big giraffe with a long slobbery tongue.

Most certainly the best $2 I've ever spent on lettuce.

The children's petting zoo - making friends with a goat (and plenty of hand sanitizer to follow).

Emerson made several decent attempts to make friends with this peacock by chasing it trying to "see it". No such luck, the peacock wasn't interested.
