Sick Day

Apparently it has been some time since I've updated the blog. There are two good reasons: first, most recent pictures of Emerson look like this:

A giant blur because she is serious about being on the move, and secondly, we seem to constantly be busy (although I'm not sure doing what). So, this morning I woke Emerson up to find that both of her eyes were crusted shut and one was swollen so much she could barely open it. This certainly can't be good. So I volunteered to take the day off of work to take Emerson to the doctor to find out what was going on, and luckily we were able to get in at 10am. The diagnosis: Pink Eye. Yuk! Apparently, someone at her daycare was out one day last week with the same thing. Great. We were instructed to keep her out of daycare for two days, so she'll be going back on Wednesday, and Ryan will stay home with her tomorrow. Thus, I am able to update our blog at noon on a Monday.

We spent the weekend with Allison, Eric, Emily, and Paige, who came from the East side for a visit (and hopefully didn't pick up any pink eye bugs). We had a very traditional fall Saturday - we went to the apple orchard, Gene the Pumpkin Man, and a chili cook off. The weather was perfect. Very fun!

And this is how Eric & Allison spent most of their time at Gene's: Chasing Paige.
